Chilean UFO Museum
The first museum in Chile dedicated to Unidentified Flying
Objects (Ufo) will be constructed in the north of the country, in an area
where for 25 years there has been more than 400 sightings reported.
According to information provided by the group OvniVisión Chile the museum
will be located in the city of the La Serena, some 472 kilometers to the
north of Santiago. The municipality will provide land for its
construction.
Chile, a country of 15.5 million inhabitants, is considered the fifth
country of the world with the greatest number of sightings of Ufos, after
the United States, Peru, Brazil and Russia.
The museum will incorporate a photographic gallery, library, a thematic
room of videos, and conference hall among other things. It will unite all
the history of the presumed extraterrestrial ships seen in Chile.
The idea of the museum, which will be inaugurated the middle of this year,
arose when the authorities of the municipality of the La Serena visited
the United States and learned of a place with similar characteristics in
Roswell.
The Chileans hope to maintain a permanent contact with the experts in Ufos
of that American city with the purpose of exchanging information and
experiences gathered in both countries.
Four years ago, the la Dirección Aeronáutica de Chile was the first
official organization that recognized the detection on radars of a
"strange intruder in the airspace", that could not be identified.
Later several military pilots told on Chilean television of their "strange
encounter with ships that never could be identified".
In May of last year, the proliferation of sightings of Ufos in the
locality of San José de Maipo, located at the foot of a mountain range
near the Andes and neighboring Santiago, prompted the authorities to
declare the area the "tourist Capital of Ufo's of Chile".
